Pregnancy Essentials Checklist

Congratulations your going to have a baby! The months that lay ahead of you are going to be one of the most wonderful and difficult times of your life. But the more prepared you are for everything that’s going to happen, the easier it will be.  Here is a checklist of things to have on hand for a happy, healthy and hassle free pregnancy:

Pregnancy Books  You’re going to need a library of pregnancy books in order to keep up with everything that’s happening. Here are some excellent titles to get you started -

Pregnancy Journal Pregnancy can be wonderful, exciting, different and scary – sometimes all at once. A pregnancy journal can help you sort out everything you are feeling, and make it easier to connect to your baby, especially in the early months, when you can’t really see or feel anything from them yet. A pregnancy journal also makes for a good gift to your child when he or she is older.
 .
BabyPlus Prenatal Education System Did you know that it’s possible to start teaching your child before he or she is even born? With something like the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System, you can play audio lessons for your unborn child, which will help them learn and reach milestones faster than their peers. These lessons are based on the sound of the mother’s heartbeat, a sound that the baby will hear throughout the pregnancy.
 .
Prenatal Vitamins Pregnancy takes a lot out of your body, and prenatal vitamins can help put some of that back for you. They contain the right amount of folic acid and iron, which are both needed throughout pregnancy but are unlikely to come from your diet. There are other vitamins and minerals as well, to make sure both you and the baby stay safe.
 .
Morning Sickness Soothers If you are one of the pregnant women who suffer from morning sickness, you are definitely not alone. The trick is to find the right cure for you, which may take some experimentation. Try sucking on pregnancy lollipops or ginger candies, drinking ginger tea, wearing acupressure bands, or taking vitamin B6 until you find what works.
 .
Body Pillow Even early in your pregnancy you may already be having a hard time finding a good sleeping position and it’s only going to get worse from here. A body pillow can be a lifesaver during pregnancy, and many women say it’s one of the best things they bought.
 .
Waistband Extender Even before it becomes visible that you’re pregnant, you’ll start to feel your body preparing, particularly in the waistband of your pants. If you’d rather not spend your morning sickness filled days shopping for maternity clothes, you can use a waistband extender like Bella Band or the Belly belt to get some more life out of the pants you have. It’s definitely worth checking into early, as some women say that having a looser waistband curbs some of their morning sickness.
 .
Maternity Clothes Once your belly really starts expanding, you’re going to have to get some good maternity clothes. It’s important to make sure that these clothes are comfortable, and will continue to be comfortable as the growing continues.
 .
Comfy Bra Pregnancy makes your breasts grow, and it also makes them very sensitive. It’s not necessary to start wearing a maternity bra right away, but you probably want to switch to something that will be more comfortable, such as a sports bra.
 .
A Good Body Lotion Pregnancy makes your skin stretch, and it also dries it out. A moisturizing body lotion that you can put on whenever you need to will help lessen the discomfort and stretch marks now and later on.
 .
Nursing Pads Colostrum, the first milk that you get to feed your baby, can start coming in and even leaking out in the last months of pregnancy. That’s what nursing pads are made for, and they will protect your clothes and your dignity.
 .
Panty Liners Bladder control issues are one of  those things to come along with pregnancy. If you start to notice these problems, or heavier vaginal discharge, a panty liner can save you the embarrassment that comes with leaking. It’s recommended to wear natural liners, with Chlorine Free Material, No Dyes or Fragrances, as these are the safest to wear during pregnancy.

Bookmarked this. I know I’ll be back as this checklist is going to come in handy, during the rest of my pregnancy.
